The Rise Of The T100 Triathlon World Tour: A Game-Changer In The Triathlon Community
The world of triathlon is abuzz with excitement as the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) and World Triathlon have announced a groundbreaking relaunch of the PTO Tour, now known as the T100 Triathlon World Tour. With 40 of the world’s highest-ranked athletes set to compete across eight races, this series promises to redefine the landscape of long-distance triathlon.
The evolution of the PTO Tour into the T100 Triathlon World Tour comes on the heels of a partnership agreement between the PTO and World Triathlon in August 2023. Designated as the official World Championship tour of long-distance triathlon, the T100 Triathlon World Tour is poised to set new standards of competition and excellence in the sport.
Scheduled to span three continents, the T100 Triathlon World Tour will kick off in Miami on 9 March, culminating in a Grand Final at a prestigious Middle East location in late November. This globe-trotting journey will showcase the elite athleticism and endurance of top triathletes from around the world.
The full calendar for the 2024 T100 Triathlon World Tour includes:
- 9-10 March - Miami T100
- 13-14 April – Singapore T100
- June - California T100 (dates TBA)
- 27-28 July - London T100
- 28-29 September - Ibiza T100
- 19-20 October - Lake Las Vegas T100
- 16-17 November - Dubai T100
- 29-30 November - Grand Final (location to be announced soon)
A star-studded lineup of 40 leading triathletes will compete in a minimum of five races, with the Grand Final determining the women’s and men’s World Champions. Thirty-two athletes secured their spots through their PTO World Ranking, while eight additional slots were awarded to athletes whose past achievements and future potential promise excitement and competition on the tour. Individual wildcards will also be awarded for each race in consultation between World Triathlon and PTO.
