Q&A with TEAM TRI-FIT Pro Triathlete Chloe Sparrow.
Meet TEAM TRI-FIT member, and Professional Triathlete, Chloe Sparrow.
Chloe is one of the hottest talents on the triathlon scene, despite being a relative newcomer to the sport, and one of the nicest people you could wish to meet!
Here is a little bit more about what makes Chloe tick.
Tell us a little bit about yourself, when you started triathlon, and why you started?
I started swimming, cycling and running late 2020 as a way to stay fit and challenge myself daily, I started taking part in triathlon events in 2021.
I started looking into triathlon whilst in lock down, keen to take up a brand new hobby and learn about the sport as I had a lot of time on my hands whilst I was furloughed from work. I started triathlon as I wanted a challenge, i’ve always been really active and enjoyed sport and keeping fit, I swam competitively up until the age of 12 so was looking forward to getting back into the pool after 10 years!
What is your favourite discipline out of swim, bike and run?
This changes daily haha! My strongest discipline is the swim, however my favourite discipline in a race is the bike. I find the run the most challenging but i’m enjoying working on that and seeing how much I can progress in that discipline as it doesn’t come easy to me.
Favourite training session?
Anything that’s hard and challenging. My favourite sessions are the ones that I look at beforehand and think ‘am I even gonna get through this’, because they’re the most rewarding when you do get through them!
What is your pre-race breakfast?
2 bagels with jam, apple juice and a coffee. Then also a PF&H caffeine gel before the swim start
What is your favourite race?
Ironman Barcelona – the most challenging race I have done and (what felt like) the most rewarding
Favourite movie?
Don’t think I have an all time favourite, but I loved A Star is Born
What can’t you live without?
My phone, hate to admit it haha, but everything I need is kept on there!
What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
When I was going through a rough time, someone once said to me “I think you should keep going, just to see what happens” it’s really simple but it really does inspire me and encourage me to keep going through the tough times
What advice would you give to someone just started in their triathlon journey?
Ask lots of questions, get a good coach and be prepared for all your money to now go on triathlon related stuff haha
What is you no.1 goal in triathlon
To be the best athlete I can be and to be competing at the top of the sport
Favourite TRI-FIT piece of kit?
My custom designed tri suit!! I love it. Also the bib shorts are the best bib shorts ever!
